El Paso Sports Commission

The El Paso Sports Commission was created in 2003 as a consolidated approach to generating and promoting sports travel to El Paso.  Incorporated as a 501(c)3 organization,  our mission is not only to promote tourism, but to do so by creating, developing and attracting sporting events to our area.  We have been instrumental in the development of many locally driven regional, national and international sporting events, such as boxing, volleyball, baseball, softball, track and field, cycling, mountain biking, triathlons and marathons.  El Paso also has been host to larger scale events like United States Bowling Congress Women’s and Open Championships and Conference USA Basketball Championships.  El Paso is also home to one of the oldest college bowl games – the Sun Bowl.

The El Paso Sports Commission provides marketing, consulting and financial support to any local sports endeavor that will attract visitors to the city and also provides funding and infrastructure support to struggling local sports programs.  Through the leveraging of our relationships with facilities, suppliers and hotels, we are able to help local events move to the next level.  Our staff is trained and certified in both sports and facility management, as well as event management and fundraising.
